Known sometimes as the 10mm Short, the .40 struck a balance between improved performance without the considerable recoil of its parent cartridge. The 165 grain fmj round by Winchester has a muzzle velocity of 1060 feet per second with 412 foot pounds of energy behind it. It has noticeably better performance, and accompanying increased recoil, than the heavier, slower 180 grain bullet, and therefore is a good training round for shooters who carry their .40s with self-defense ammunition. This Winchester 40 S&W ammo comes packaged with 10 boxes that each contain 50 rounds.
