It has a factory edge and has been mirror polished down to perfection. The Seal of the United States has been engraved into the blade, along with the designs representing the pride and courage of those who fought for their heritage. On one side of the blade, the words E Pluribus Unum are engraved, and the other side has U. S. engraved into the steel. Unmarked 1832 Foot Artillery sword. The 19" blade is in very good condition with only very minor pitting scattered about. The solid brass handle is of very good quality showing a nice even patina. The scabbard is also in very good condition and seldom found with this model sword. The leather is excellent with typical age cracks. The brass tip has a couple of small dings or dents but otherwise far above average condition. As mentioned before, neither the blade, hilt, handle or scabbard have any markings whatsoever.
